Biography

(TXT-1)

With a degree in Law and a specialisation in Human Rights, she later trained in photography and decided to pursue it professionally. She has worked in Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa, documenting issues related to human rights, territory, and collective memory, with a particular focus on the situation of women.

In her latest projects, she delves into the research processes that precede the photographic act and explores visual narratives that establish a connection between images and critical thinking, as she believes that it is through this relationship that photography has the power to transform individual sensitivity as well as collective consciousness.

(TXT-2)

Her work has earned her numerous awards, including the Imagen Award from the Spanish Geographical Society (2023), the Sabina de Plata for her professional career (2021), and the Artes & Letras Photography Award (2017). Her projects have also been recognised and awarded in international festivals and competitions such as the Prix de la Photographie Paris, the Julia Margaret Cameron Award (UK), the Photofest Award (Mexico), and the International Photography Awards (USA). She has been nominated for the Gabriel García Márquez Awards and for World Press Photo’s 6×6 Global Talent Programme.

In recent years, she has held over one hundred exhibitions. Her photographic work has been shown in Spain at institutions such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the Círculo de Bellas Artes, and PhotoESPAÑA, as well as in cities around the world, including Bogotá, Paris, Moscow, Avignon, Montreal, Quebec, and Querétaro. She has also taken part in major international events such as the World Social Forum (2021) and the Havana Biennial (2024).
